How much do sessions cost?

60-minute sessions are $100, and 90-minute sessions are $150. All sessions are pay-as-you-go with no packages required.

Do you accept insurance?

I don't accept insurance directly, but I can provide invoices in the format your insurance company requires for you to submit for reimbursement. Many Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) cover therapeutic massage. Some insurance plans cover massage therapy when performed by a licensed massage therapist and sometimes require a prescription from a physician. I'm happy to help you understand what documentation you might need.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are available in 60-minute ($100) or 90-minute ($150) options. This includes time for assessment, treatment, and any post-session exercises or recommendations.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time, or if you fail to show up to your appointment, that session must be paid for in full. Barring other arrangements being made, your credit card on file will be charged. I understand emergencies happen, so please contact me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.

How long do results usually last?

It depends on what led to your issue in the first place. If it's of acute origin (caused by an isolated incident or a stress that is no longer a factor), results should last indefinitely. However, if your issue is due to a repetitive stress such as sitting in front of a computer all day, maintaining results will require diligent effort on your part. That being said, results are generally permanent after addressing the underlying cause.

How long before I start seeing results?

For most modalities, progress is usually noticeable after the very first visit, though for some individuals, it can take as many as three visits to notice significant results. Generally speaking, the older the issue, the longer it will take to resolve. Some issues simply take time. As I often tell my clients, it took a while to get your body like this, expect it to take a while to get it back to normal.

How many sessions will it take to resolve my issue?

This varies greatly depending on the nature and duration of your issue. Acute injuries may resolve in 1-3 sessions, while chronic conditions may require ongoing care. Most clients see significant improvement within 3-6 sessions. I'll provide an honest assessment after your initial evaluation and work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals.

What happens during sessions?

Each session begins with a brief discussion about how you've been feeling since your last visit (or your current concerns if it's your first visit). I'll assess your movement patterns and identify areas of concern. Then I'll provide hands-on treatment using various techniques tailored to your needs. The session concludes with any necessary exercises, stretches, or lifestyle recommendations to support your progress.

What should I wear to sessions?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement assessment. You'll be draped appropriately during the massage portion, and I'll only uncover the area being worked on. Some techniques can be performed through clothing if you prefer. For sports massage or certain techniques, athletic wear may be helpful. Feel free to ask me what would be best for your specific treatment.

Is massage therapy safe for everyone?

Massage therapy is generally safe for most people, but there are some contraindications. I'll review your health history during your first visit to ensure massage is appropriate for you. Certain conditions may require modifications or clearance from your physician. Always inform me of any injuries, medical conditions, or medications you're taking.

How does deep tissue massage work?

Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to target deeper layers of muscle and fascia. The sustained pressure helps break down adhesions (knots) and scar tissue, increasing blood flow and promoting healing. While it may cause some discomfort during treatment, it shouldn't be painful, and I'll always check in with you about pressure levels.

Can massage help with stress and anxiety?

Yes! Massage therapy has been shown to reduce stress hormones like cortisol and increase feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine. Regular massage can help manage anxiety, improve sleep quality, and promote an overall sense of well-being. The relaxation response triggered by massage can have lasting effects on your mental and physical health.
